Pharmacy education in India started as a sprout in the form of its first pharmacy institute in BHU some eighty plus years ago to grow into a deep rooted and well branched tree over all these years. SreeDattha Institute of Pharmacy (SDIP), established in 2005 by Vyjayanthi Educational Society has made rapid strides of progress during this brief tenure to become one of the premier institutes of Pharmacy in Hyderabad. This institute is approved by AICTE, PCI & affiliated to JNTU and currently offering B. Pharm, M. Pharm and Pharm.D. &Pharm.D.(PB) courses.SDIP is endeavoring to be an Educational Research Centre par excellence in the field of Pharmacy. Our vision is to be a globally recognized pharmacy education and research centre integrating the science and technology to advance pharmaceutical drug discovery, formulation and provide health care service to professional, scientific communities and public. We intend to mould the institute into a pace setting one in professional education and research by producing highly skilled manpower to meet the ever increasing needs of industry and community. We owe to provide a supportive and enriching environment for learning, research and to prepare our students, alumni and staff to positively impact the society. We emphasize on all round development of students. This is clearly indicated by the excellent performance of our students not only in university examinations but also in competitive examinations like GPAT, NIPER.However, we believe in the motto “SERVICE TO SOCIETY IS SERVICE TO GOD”. This motivates us to be closely attached with needy people in the society to uplift the Humanity in the name of service.
Dr. S. A. Sreenivas is the Professor & Principal of SreeDattha Institute of Pharmacy. He had obtained B.Pharm from Bapuji College of Pharmacy, Davangere, Karnataka, M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics specialization from K.L.E.Ss College of Pharmacy, Belgaum, Karnataka and Ph.D. from Kuvempu University, Shivamogga, Karnataka, a reputed Government University respectively.
He has been in academics for the last fifteen plus years in various capacities. To his credit, he published more than 42 research articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals and presented 38 research papers at various national and international conferences. He has guided 32 M. Pharm. students and 08 Ph.D scholars for the award of degrees. He has organized two National conferences, one International conference, three faculty development programs, three technical fests etc.
He has received financial grants of worth 27 Lakhs from AICTE, New Delhi (12 Lakhs for Research promotion Scheme, 8 Lakhs for Entrepreneurship Development Cell and 7 Lakhs for Industry Institute Partnership Cell) and 4.2 Lakhs from UGC, New Delhi for different schemes.
